Short Story #1
The Story Of Yellow
Journal #4
I was honestly pretty nervous about showing the class my story. Especially after seeing and reading the others, where most of them have depth and have a real meaning behind them. Mine I feel like is not that deep and does not have a big profound meaning behind it. I was surprised to hear how many people actually really liked it! It’s actually funny how many people talked about how The Story of Yellow could be a children’s book. I didn’t really intend for it to NOT be a kids book, but it wasn’t my intention it just kinda ended up that way. Honestly I’m not a big fan of children, and yellow is one of my least favorite colors. I like dinosaurs though. Honestly the idea came from an inside joke from my freshman year biology lab group before I transferred here. It was good to hear the feedback, and I know where I need to improve the story now. As for where the story will go next, I will add names to at least the main character, and the other little dinosaur, and I want to improve and expand the ending. I would want to write about the two of them getting the rest of their herd to the field. I might also try and expand on the idea of how color affects their emotions. I do not know if I am ever going to write anything about the other colors ever, but it’s an option.
